Senior Analyst (DBA Engineer)

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead the evangelization of an application and data protection strategy to support strategic initiatives in Performance and tuning of Azure databases.
• Establish, automate, and maintain database performance and maintenance processes.
• Establish, automate, and maintain database audit capabilities.
• Work with data modeling lead and project teams developing and implementing standards and best practices for both physical data model design and SQL coding.
• Work with data integration and EDL engineering teams developing and implementing ETL standards and best practices on Databricks platform and Azure databases.
• Implement, manage & optimize row level security solutions in EDL consumption layer.
• Perform functional analysis of new database systems guiding evolution of EDL Consumption layer.
• Participate in the evaluation and implementation of data management technologies and solutions.

Job Requirements (Functional):

• Expert understanding of Cloud based database systems.
• Expert understanding of relational databases and associated performance management techniques & solutions.
• Expert understanding of SQL coding techniques, relational databases, and best practices, especially in regard to performance management.
• Deep understanding of data integration (ETL) design and development.
• Manages performance of EDL consumption platform.
• Develops and maintains data integration (ETL) standards and guidelines.
• Supporting a federated community of data engineers loading data into the EDL consumption layer.
• Solid understanding of row level security implementations, database functionality implementing row level security, and associated performance and & tuning considerations.
• Understands ELC EDL technical landscape and integration processes.
• Drives automation and efficiencies of performance management and ETL solutions.
• Experience installing and maintaining database and data management platforms (ETL, Master Data, Data Quality, etc.)

Job Requirements (Technical):

• Expertise with Azure SQL databases.
• Deep understanding of Azure Cosmos and Synapse (Databricks Lakehouse is a plus).
• Database performance management expert.
• Expert in database performance & tuning practices and concepts, proven hands-on performance and tuning expertise in Azure cloud environment; ability to tune physical data models across Azure cloud database offerings.
• Expert experience automating database maintenance processes.
• Excellent SQL coding skills.
• Excellent Python coding skills.
• Strong, proven experience developing ETL standards.
• Strong, proven physical data modeling skills & experience defining and optimizing data access patterns.
• Experience developing in Databricks environment.
