Job description

Our client is a leading organization specializing in innovative surface enhancement solutions who operates within the Chemical industry. Due to rapid expansion, they are seeking a Research & Development Chemist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Product Development:
    • Conduct research to develop innovative paint and coating formulations that align with market trends and customer needs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products from conceptualization to commercialization.
  • Formulation Optimization:
    • Analyze and optimize existing formulations to enhance product performance, durability, and sustainability.
    • Stay abreast of industry advancements and incorporate new materials and technologies into formulations.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that products meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct thorough testing and analysis of raw materials and finished products.
  • Technical Support:
    • Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and customers.
    • Address and resolve technical issues related to product performance and application.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead and contribute to research projects, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
    • Document and communicate research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
    • Stay informed about industry regulations and implement changes as needed.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in research and development, preferably in the paint and coatings industry.
  • Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, material science, and formulation techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and testing methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
