R&D Manager (Johor)

The R&D Manager is responsible for developing new products and improving cost and quality. In their daily tasks, they ensure that production and manufacturing lines operate efficiently, coordinate employee efforts, and facilitate communication between management and production departments. They also ensure that the product quality meets the requirements of relevant authorities and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the R&D department.
• Manage NPD processes from concept to commercialization, including development, shelf life studies, TDS, etc.
• Lead all development and optimization initiatives for innovative and renovation projects.
• Supervise trial runs, troubleshoot issues, and improve control settings.
• Responsible for new product development and transferring recipes from headquarters.
• Proactively design and establish R&D operational procedures.
• Ensure product compliance with country regulations.
• Recruit R&D personnel.
• Develop and execute development plans, build an excellent team by retaining and growing talent, identify learning opportunities, and provide proactive coaching.

Key requirements:

• Expertise in food technology and formulation.
• Proficiency in both theoretical and practical aspects of food analysis.
• Understanding of fat chemistry principles.
• Experience in mentoring and coaching.
• Knowledge of food process regulations and requirements.
• Integrity and approachability, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues.
• Curiosity and a willingness to challenge organizational culture when necessary.
• Ability to compile, interpret, and professionally communicate statistical data.
