R&D Manager

Job description

Job Purpose:

  • Supervise and manage R&D activities and daily operations, ensuring team effectiveness. Develop and implement operational plans and objectives aligned with corporate guidelines.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead a small team to execute agreed plans utilizing diverse expertise available.
  • Prepare, test, develop, analyze, and research elements within own discipline.
  • Recruit, lead, coach, appraise, and develop team members.
  • Demonstrate and promote safety leadership.

Key Activities:

  • Manage execution of yearly plan, ensuring planning and budget adherence while contributing to plan development.
  • Organize activities, set clear goals and milestones, and allocate resources.
  • Collaborate with management on activity priorities and staffing levels.
  • Provide scientific input to R&D, Supply Chain, and marketing projects.
  • Develop team members in relevant scientific disciplines.

Job Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in a R&D lab-based role, with a chemist background, preferably from paints/ coatings/ polymer/ glove industries.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing a team.
  • Proven team management experience.
  • Minimum Diploma in Chemistry or Science-related field.
  • Proficient English communication skills.
