Purchasing Supervisor

Lead a small procurement team to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels, drive supplier performance improvements, maintain strong communication, and support purchasing activities for production materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, and support a team of buyers, ensuring adherence to company policies and performance standards.
• Implement procurement tools and systems to improve process efficiency.
• Guide suppliers on performance expectations and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to align procurement with organizational needs.
• Evaluate supplier quality and delivery against corporate standards for defect-free products and on-time delivery, coordinating with logistics and related departments to drive improvements.
• Develop a strong understanding of materials and supply sources to procure at competitive prices while meeting quality and quantity criteria.
• Gain deep knowledge of assigned commodities, suppliers, manufacturing processes, and industry trends to effectively manage supply chain activities.
• Manage purchasing through RFQs, RFIs, contract negotiations, cost and price analysis, leveraging technical expertise where applicable.
• Maintain consistent communication with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, payment, or other operational issues promptly.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry and system maintenance.
• Manage inventory levels by rescheduling orders with suppliers as necessary.
• Comply with organizational policies regarding quality, health and safety, ethics, legal regulations, environmental standards, and workplace organization (e.g., 5S).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Logistics, Material Management, or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain functions such as purchasing or planning.
• Proficient in SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
• Background in semiconductor, contract manufacturing, or similar industries preferred.
• Experience managing buyers or commodity groups.
• Familiarity with procurement systems, vendor management, and inventory control processes.
• Ability to provide practical recommendations to enhance procurement and communication efficiency.
• Analytical mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of data visualization and automation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Macros is an advantage.
