Principal Regional Mechanical Engineer (Data Centre)

Job description

My client is a world-leading IT company from the U.S. Due to rapid expansion, they are looking to add a Regional Principal Mechanical Engineer to spearhead all Field Engineering operational needs and be presented as the Subject Matter Expert when it comes to all technical advice revolving around equipment comissioning as well as risk mitigation for the efficiency and success of site improvement and maintenance.

Your new role will require you to:

  • Oversee equipment performance and ensure highest standards of reliability and continuity
  • Comission, troubleshoot, maintain and eliminate all failures that could contribute towards site/equipment failure
  • Successfully implement Corrective Action (CA) through proper analysis of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to systemically reduce downtime or bottlenecks
  • Monitor and implement complex operational procedures to instil a consistent flow of operational performance
  • Assist in projects (periodically in multiple regions that require travel) that involve implementation, suggestions, and collaboration amongst other relevant departments
  • Assume the role as a Leader or Subject Matter Expert who will need to train up junior team members in order to establish a consistent level of expertise throughout the team's abilities

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience comissioning, leading, reviewing, and maintaining Data Centre equipment (HVAC, cooling systems, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience spearheading projects related to expansion, upgrades, and overhaul within a relevant industry
  • Strong leadership and seniority capabilities - must be open to leading a team, providing complex and informative reports to high-level stakeholders, etc.
  • A Project Management Certification (PMP®) would be highly advantageous
