NPI Quality Manager

Job description

Our client is a semiconductor company in Malacca. They are currently seeking a NPI Quality Manager due to rapid expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality Management:
    • Lead and manage the quality aspects of the NPI process from concept to production, ensuring alignment with company quality standards.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and production, to establish quality requirements and specifications for new products.
  • Quality Control Systems:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures to address potential quality issues during the NPI phase.
  • Supplier Quality Management:
    • Work closely with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials and components.
    • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the NPI phase, implementing best practices to enhance overall product quality and reliability.
    • Utilize statistical methods and data analysis to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to NPI quality processes, including standard operating procedures and quality manuals.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on NPI quality metrics, highlighting areas for improvement and corrective actions.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 10 years experience (preferable) in Semiconductor field (LED would be highly sought after).
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of LED processes would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge and practice in PPAP, Change Management, 8D reporting, SPC, MSA, CP & FMEA would be sought after.
  • In-depth knowledge of Reliability Test in defining qualification plan for new products.
  • Knowledge and understanding in Automotive standard requirements (IATF 16949).
  • Persistence and the ability to positively influence others.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently with cross functional teams.
