Manager/AVP, Liability Underwriting

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite complex liability insurance risks across various industries.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines, pricing strategies and risk appetite.
• Review, negotiate and approve terms, conditions and coverage limits for key accounts.
• Manage portfolio performance, monitor trends and ensure profitable growth.
• Lead referral assessments for high‑risk or non‑standard cases.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, distribution and product teams on pricing, wordings and product enhancements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents and corporate clients.
• Oversee technical underwriting quality, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Analyse market data, competitor insights and emerging liability risks to refine underwriting strategy.
• Coach and guide junior underwriters to strengthen technical capabilities and decision‑making.
