Lead, Data engineer

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data governance procedures.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their data engineering needs and provide scalable and reliable solutions using preferred technologies like Python and Scala.
• Ensure data architectures are secure and adhere to best practices.
• Maintain the organization's data infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy, and enabling data-driven decision-making across various departments.
• Lead and coach a team and stay current with evolving technologies, identify opportunities for optimization and improvement, and drive continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in data engineering in a fast moving environment / culture with 2-3 years leadership skills.
• Proven experience in leading the design and development of data pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in Python and knowledge of SQL.
• Well verse in big data, Hadoop
• Excellent communication in Bahasa Melayu and English and collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
• Experience managing and leading a team in a distributed team setup across multiple locations.
