About our client:
A large, reputable organisation within the education and technology sector is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and deliver major application‑focused projects. This role is ideal for a dynamic project leader who excels in managing enterprise applications that support Finance, Human Resources, and Student-related functions.
You will play a key role in driving end‑to‑end project lifecycles-from governance and planning to execution, resource coordination, and reporting-while ensuring that critical business applications are delivered effectively, aligned with organisational objectives, and compliant with established frameworks and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Governance & Frameworks
- Implement and adhere to established project governance frameworks and methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit standards, and documentation requirements.
- Improve and enhance project governance tools, templates, and processes.
Project Planning & Initiation
- Lead business case development, project scoping, stakeholder mapping, and charter creation.
- Build detailed project plans, resource plans, risk registers, schedules, and budgets.
Project Execution & Delivery
- Drive the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and subject matter experts.
- Track project deliverables, monitor progress, and manage deviations.
- Oversee scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk using structured PM methodologies.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, assess, and monitor project risks, dependencies, and constraints.
- Develop mitigation plans and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain and update RAID logs consistently.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain clear communication across project teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Prepare and present project status reports, dashboards, and communication updates.
- Facilitate alignment across units, ensuring decisions are documented and tracked.
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking.
- Ensure effective allocation of resources and workload balancing.
- Monitor CapEx/OpEx spending and ensure compliance with financial governance.
Project Closeout
- Lead project handover, post‑implementation reviews, and lessons-learned sessions.
- Ensure all documents and artefacts are archived according to governance standards.
Skills & Experiences required:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant IT project management or IT governance experience, with minimum 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Possess two or more relevant IT certifications, with at least one professional-level certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, ITIL).
- Proven ability to lead complex IT projects and cross-functional technical teams.
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or MS Project.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, including report preparation.
- Ability to analyse complex IT issues and propose innovative solutions.
- Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, compliance, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, networking, and web/mobile technologies.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and foster a productive and compliant team culture.
