Head of IT

About the Job

Our client, a well-established organization in the Financial Services sector, is seeking a Head of IT to lead and manage the technology function. This role requires a hands-on technology leader with strong coding expertise and an AI-centric mindset, capable of driving innovation while leading high-performing engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end IT application development and ensure stable, high-performing production operations.
• Define and execute the SaaS roadmap for the enterprise Edge Platform, emphasizing scalability, reusability, and optimized delivery.
• Champion an AI-first mindset by identifying and embedding AI/ML capabilities into products, engineering practices, and operational processes.
• Align solution design and development with both short-term business priorities and long-term strategic objectives.
• Translate strategy into actionable technical architecture and ensure strong governance and adherence throughout the development lifecycle.
• Drive rapid, high-quality delivery to accelerate time-to-market.
• Lead the identification, evaluation, and adoption of modern development frameworks, tools, and best practices.
• Foster a business-focused, outcome-driven culture within engineering teams, instilling urgency and accountability.
• Ensure teams stay current with emerging technologies, particularly advancements in AI/ML and cloud-native solutions.
• Implement robust engineering standards and DevOps practices to enable frequent, multi-region deployments.
• Embed information security requirements into architecture and development processes by design.
• Establish and continuously enhance production monitoring, observability, and alerting capabilities, proactively identifying and resolving risks.
• Drive responsible AI adoption, ensuring governance, compliance, explainability, and ethical considerations are integrated into solution delivery.
• Review and validate technical designs, code quality, and architectural decisions.
• Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations for new tools, frameworks, and technologies prior to adoption.

Key Skills:

• Proven ability to engage, influence, and manage senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring development teams.
• Strong passion for technology and innovation.
• Must have an AI-centric mindset, with hands-on experience or strong exposure to AI/ML-driven solutions and intelligent automation.
• Deep technical expertise across multiple technologies and platforms.
• Hands-on experience in Java(SpringBoot), ReactJs, JavaScript, Docker, Cloud AWS
• Cloud platforms (AWS), Docker, and containerized environments
• Ability to clearly document and communicate technical designs.
• Strong experience conducting code reviews and enforcing engineering best practices.
• Experience evaluating technical frameworks, libraries, and products, including proof-of-concept execution.
• Practical experience with DevOps methodologies and Agile delivery models.
• Relevant technical qualifications and certification
