Finance Controller (based in Johor or Penang)

About our client:

This company is a Fortune 500 MNC in the manufacturing industry with multiple brand presence and partnerships across the globe. They are looking to hire a finance controller to be based in either their site in Johor or Penang to support the senior management, lead the country's finance team and work closely with their regional conterparts.

Your key responsibilities includes:

  • Take charge of Asia's finance controlling functions.
  • Responsible for internal control across sites in compliance with SOX.
  • Ensure alignment of local processes and controllership compliance
  • Co‐ordinate with Treasury for local treasury/banking requirements
  • Lead projects on process improvement, streamlining and re-engineering
  • Manage and guide a lean team towards excellence
  • Support on audits, statutory reporting and tax

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, etc.)
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in scope involving financial reporting, business partnering, and FP&A with a solid foundation in controllership
  • A proven track record of being a key contributor to the business's commercial value and prior experience in Controlling
  • Expertise in SAP system
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders (finance and non-finance)
  • Regional exposure in manufacturing industry in MNC organisations
