Environmental Officer (manager/ senior manager)

My client is a global cF&B company. They are looking for an Environment Manager due to recent ramp-up of ESG matters in the company. You will be sitting at group level, overseeing environmental matters for the company's plants and farm in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Environmental Compliance:

   • Ensure that all company operations comply with local and international environmental regulations.
   • Stay abreast of changes in environmental laws and regulations and update company policies accordingly.
   • Conduct regular audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.

2. Environmental Impact Assessment:

   • Conduct thorough environmental impact assessments for new projects and modifications to existing facilities.
   • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate environmental risks and minimize the company's carbon footprint.

3. Environmental Management Systems (EMS):

   • Design, implement, and maintain an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) across all company sites.
   • Monitor and measure key environmental performance indicators to track progress and identify opportunities for improvement.

4. Stakeholder Engagement:

   • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships and ensure alignment with environmental goals.
   • Work closely with government agencies, local communities, and NGOs to foster positive relationships and promote sustainable practices.

5. Waste Management:

   • Develop and implement comprehensive waste management strategies to minimize waste generation and promote recycling and reuse.
   • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials and adherence to waste disposal regulations.

6. Environmental Training and Awareness:

   • Provide training to employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
   • Foster a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experinece in the agricultural field.
• Proven experience in environmental management, preferably in a multinational corporation with multiple facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of local and international environmental laws and regulations.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and execute environmental initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
