About Our Client:

Our client is part of a global MNC highly established in the retail industry. After close to 4 years of establishing a SEA hub in Malaysia, they are currently expanding their operations and are seeking talented Purchasing professionals to apply to the Retail Buyer position

Responsibilities:

In charge of Buying budgeting/planning, Vendor & Order management and product research for the operations in the region

1) Buying budgeting/planning:

• Aligning buying and merchandising strategies to business plan
• Ensure timely procurement of the category products to achieve business profit targets
• Optimize purchasing cost and improve purchase process

2) Vendor & Order Management

• Develop, build & maintain vendor base and in charge of identifying and negotiating with prospective vendors
• Conduct orders based on buying plan and ensure optimal deliveries as per SLAs
• Tracking of merchandise movements from supplier to company distribution centre

3) Product research

• Keep up to date of latest buying trends in the specialized category and retail industry

Requirements:

• Proven experience in buying operations for kids/children category in fashion/apparel industry is MANDATORY
• Good Communications, Analytics and knowledge in local market
• Must be willing to travel based on business demands due to regional coverage
