Business Development Engineer

Job description

Our client is an industry leader in technologies that specialise in heat transfer, separation, and fluid handling, offering equipment and engineered solutions used across some of the world's most critical sectors, such as food, water processing and energy. They are currently looking to hire an experience Business Development Engineer to cover Malaysia and Singapore.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for decanters, centrifuges, and related separation technologies.
  • Build strong pipelines across edible oil processing, dairy, juice & beverage, plant protein, poultry & meat rendering, and wastewater recovery applications.
  • Drive tender participation, prepare proposals, deliver quotations, and negotiate commercial terms.
  • Meet quarterly and annual sales targets while increasing regional market penetration.
  • Provide expert guidance on process separation challenges including clarification, purification, concentration, sludge dewatering, and solids‑liquid separation.
  • Evaluate customer production requirements and recommend optimal machine configuration, capacities, bowl designs, and process parameters.



Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, or related technical field.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in technical sales within food processing equipment, preferably in decanters, centrifuges, or separation systems.
  • Strong existing network in food processing industries is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of upstream and downstream processes in edible oils, dairy, beverages, proteins, starch, or similar food segments.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, engineering drawings, and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
