Assistant Product Manager

About Our Client

This established MNC retail group has an assortment of men's and women's apparel under multiple brands. The group operates over several regions all over Asia and has been around for almost 40 years. They're looking for a reliable Assistant Product Manager to be able to work closely with the Hong Kong team in merchandising and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

Merchandising:

  • Work together with the Hong Kong HQ to support product development and provide market insights to the design and buying team
  • Ability to review market-specific buy plans from contrasting perspectives to ensure category's colour, mix and style are aligned with Corporate Product direction
  • To conduct product training for the sales staff
  • Will need to fly to Hong Kong to attend buy trips, usually twice a year
  • Ability to evaluate the brand's market position and identify its SWOT in the market by performing regular market research and competitors analysis
  • Driving cross-functional team alignment (buying, marketing, operations, product planning, VM, retail, etc) to secure the brand's consistency within the market

Inventory Management:

  • Optimising business opportunities by allocating stocks to the accurate stores
  • Be able to ensure the synergies across all the brands within the group
  • Achieving company targets by managing current and off-season inventories
  • Ability to analyse and identify the causes and trends behind any opportunities or risks

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Must have experience in Merchandising & Inventory Management in retail industries - fashion retail preferred
  • At least a total of 4-5 years of experience with 1-2 years as an Assistant Manager level
  • Advantageous if you have overseas/international buying experience
  • Preferred mandarin speakers to be able to communicate with Hong Kong counterparts
