Assistant Manager, Pricing

Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end pricing for new product initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Independently validate pricing models and tools to ensure robustness and compliance.
  • Compile and assess product features, pricing assumptions, and profitability metrics with minimal supervision.
  • Review product specifications and documentation to ensure consistency with pricing strategy and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide feedback on policy documents and marketing materials to ensure alignment with product design and pricing.
  • Prepare pricing reports and presentations for internal and regional stakeholders.
  • Coordinate documentation for regulatory submissions and product filings.


System & Technical Support

  • Conduct and document User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to verify product values and system accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between system outputs and pricing models.
  • Manage updates to front-end and back-end systems related to product pricing and benefit illustrations.
  • Perform ad hoc calculations and support system validation efforts.
  • Collaborate with IT, Operations, New Business, and Servicing teams to ensure seamless product integration.


Operational & Analytical Support

  • Provide technical guidance to operations and other departments on product-related matters.
  • Support junior team members through knowledge sharing and mentorship.
  • Assist in setting up actuarial pricing parameters and benefit illustration programs.
  • Analyze data to uncover trends and support pricing strategies across distribution channels.
  • Respond to routine stakeholder queries related to pricing and product features.


Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all pricing activities comply with internal policies and external regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.
  • Proactively highlight potential concerns and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
  • Champion process improvements and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
