Assistant Maintenance Manager - Automation

Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Engineering Manager in ensuring maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements, including participation in audits, inspections, and safety training
  • Assist in the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and upkeep of plant equipment to maintain reliability and minimize unplanned downtime
  • Help enforce maintenance standards and preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment performance and lifespan
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production and other functions to ensure effective planning, prioritization, and minimal operational disruption
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history through CMMS or equivalent systems
  • Support the supervision and guidance of maintenance personnel by assigning tasks, providing technical input, and monitoring work quality and productivity
  • Contribute to team development, performance management, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Assist in monitoring maintenance-related costs, resource utilization, and identifying cost-optimization opportunities
  • Support spare parts procurement, vendor coordination, and inventory management activities
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, KPI tracking, and cross-functional projects aimed at improving maintenance effectiveness and operational excellence

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of technical maintenance experience, including at least 3 years within an FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of rotating equipment, automation, and electrical systems, including troubleshooting and commissioning
  • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and spare parts management
  • Proficient in CMMS usage and maintenance documentation practices
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated ability to support team leadership and work effectively with technicians and cross-functional stakeholders
