Analyst cum Consultant

About our client:

• A boutique management consultancy specializing in the asset management sectors.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Engaging with stakeholders to drive execution against effective project plans, anticipate potential issues, and provide structured solutions to ensure a successful client engagement
• Taking responsibility for a workstream or component of a project, including the creation of client deliverables by facilitating client interviews and workshops, performing analysis in Excel, assisting with SQL (preferred), providing status reporting, synthesising clear insights from complex information, and developing content that clearly articulates recommendations
• Developing meaningful and successful relationships with clients and vendors by understanding the different needs of stakeholders and establishing a high degree of credibility internally and externally
• Contributing to the wider community by making innovative and proactive contributions to one or more of business management or practice areas
• Maintaining a broad understanding of the challenges facing the Asset & Wealth Management Industry and knowledge of relevant issues and trends within one or more of practice areas

Candidate Profile:

• At least 3+ years of proven experience within financial services
• Ideally a good understanding of investment data domains and data governance
• Experience in Asset and/or Wealth management a plus
• Experience of projects engaged on Data, Middle Office / Back Office Transformation & Migration, Target Operating Model, Business Processes and/or IT solutions in some of the following areas: Investments, Performance, Operations a plus
• Good understanding of both public and private markets' asset classes
• Good consulting and problem-solving skills, and familiarity with recognised project / change and consulting frameworks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical, and impactful manner
• Proven track record of building and sustaining lasting relationships with team members and client stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and contribute as part of a small team
• Ability to comfortably multi-task and engage in multiple initiatives concurrently
• Flexibility to travel if required
• Strong academic background and degree from a leading institution
• Business language fluency in English and Malay.
• Ability to work on site in Kuala Lumpur 3 to 4 days per week (remote option flexibility for remainder)
