Actuarial Assistant Manager / Manager - Reporting & Analytics

Job Scope

Support the Head of BNM Reporting & Analytics in achieving long-term financial stability by managing reserves effectively, reviewing financial projections, and ensuring compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia's Risk-based Capital Framework (RBC) and the Group's guidelines and standards.

Main Responsibility

• Establish a robust actuarial valuation process for the Company that complies with both BNM's RBC framework and the Group's guidelines.
• Implement rigorous controls by periodically validating methodology, data points, processes, and outcomes for actuarial reserves and valuations as per guidelines.
• Ensure the adequacy and efficiency of reserves through accurate actuarial projections and analyses.
• Validate and review business plans of existing operations from an actuarial perspective including loss ratios selection and reinsurance optimisation etc
• Work with local teams for timely completion of Financial Condition Report
• Conduct ad-hoc investigations and analyses as required by Management / Board
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Direct Manager
• Ensure appropriate and accurate information is provided to the Group and Regional Office in a timely manner, as assigned by Direct Manager
• Ensure consistency in processes and policies for compliance to relevant statutory regulations of the Central Bank and Group guidelines pertaining to Actuarial function

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of actuarial working experience
• Understand local insurance markets and BNM's requirements
• Preferably a Degree in quantitative discipline such as Actuarial, Finance, Econom-ics, Statistics, Insurance, Risk Management etc.
• Member of an Actuarial Institute or Society recognised by Insurance Act 1996/Fi-nancial Services Act, with good progress in passing Actuarial Professional Examinations
