Accounting Manager

About our client:

Our client is a well-known and rapidly expanding company in the retail industry, with established presence in Malaysia. They are looking to hire an experienced Accounting Manager, who will be responsible for full spectrum of finance matters. The successful candidate will be supporting and reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager, based in Kuala Lumpur.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing full spectrum of finance and accounting functions, in accordance with the required statutory requirements.
  • Active involvement in management decisions, providing high level financial analytics, coming up with financial strategies, to support the expansion plans.
  • Responsible for forecast and budgeting activities.
  • Review and improve procedures and policies to ensure compliance and company SOP whenever necessary.
  • Oversee treasury and cash management functions.
  • Provide guidance to team members and build a high-performing finance team.
  • Manage the annual audit and tax matters.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties and assignments as and when required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant financial reporting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Possess Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or professionally qualified accountant ie. ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Possess strong critical thinking, analytical skills, people manager and able to adapt to business needs and changes.
  • Background in trading or retail industry would be a big advantage.
  • Experience in preparing PowerPoint slides to present financial information/data to management would be an added advantage.
