Accountant (Korean Speaking)

Job description


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all financial transactions-such as revenue, accruals, provisions, and operating costs-are recorded accurately and in line with internal accounting policies and global reporting standards.
  • Conduct regular reviews of general ledger activities to identify errors early, minimize the need for adjustments, and ensure expenses are neither overstated nor understated.
  • Monitor monthly cost movements, analyze variances, and ensure consistent expense recognition throughout the year, including preparing accruals when required.
  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts and ensure timely reconciliation to the general ledger after each month-end close. Maintain proper documentation as part of business continuity and backup procedures.
  • Produce and distribute financial and management reports within set timelines, ensuring all reporting deliverables are consistently met.
  • Independently plan and prioritize daily tasks to meet service level expectations, taking initiative to resolve issues with minimal supervision.
  • Adhere to internal control procedures and ensure completed work is submitted promptly for review by the Team Lead or Manager.
  • Manage intercompany accounting activities in accordance with agreed service levels, addressing discrepancies and resolving issues as needed.
  • Handle billing-related queries, track disputes, and coordinate resolutions with relevant parties.
  • Work closely with finance teams across different regions to complete reconciliations, process credit/debit notes, and manage approved offset transactions.
  • Perform daily bank postings, clear bank-related transactions, and carry out monthly bank reconciliations, including high‑volume or large‑market accounts.
  • Ensure timely settlement and posting of treasury-related activities such as FX transactions, loans, accrued and actual interest, bank fees, and related entries.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred.
  • Fluent in Korean language
  • At least 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting function.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong practical Excel skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively using both formal and informal communication methods.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to execute tasks to achieve defined objectives.
  • Excellent communication abilities, including clear report writing and concise verbal expression.
  • A reliable team player who works well with others to achieve shared outcomes.
