Supplier Quality Engineer

Main Job Purpose:

• Drive QMS improvement and support QA/QC activities in a flat organization, ensuring products meet company requirements and qualifying vendors for existing/new markets.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain high Health & Safety standards and promote a culture of ownership.
• Control document revisions and ensure timely updates for flat business.
• Assist in coordinating third-party audits and addressing Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
• Follow up with external certification bodies for product/national certifications.
• Handle Non-conformance Reports (NCRs) for flat products.
• Support the commercial team in resolving customer complaints within timelines.
• Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
• Assist Purchasing in product evaluation, trials, and qualification for new flat products.
• Undertake additional administrative tasks assigned by superiors.

Expected Results:

• Continuous improvement of products and processes to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Implementation of Group Quality Standards into the local quality management system.
• Close collaboration with Quality Lead and manufacturers to resolve product quality issues.

Effectiveness Indicators:

• Ensure closure of official product claims lodged to the company and provide feedback to manufacturers.
• Execute supplier quality audits as per plan and address non-conformances promptly.
• Collaborate with certification bodies to maintain product/system certification validity.

Main Contacts: Internally: Commercial, Supply Chain, and Purchasing Departments. Externally: Key suppliers, customers, certification bodies, and external laboratories.

Challenges:

• Proficiency in manufacturing processes and various laboratory tests, especially fire tests for construction materials.
• Ensuring adherence to quality plans and driving product improvements.
• Collaboration with key suppliers/overseas manufacturers on flat product quality issues.

Main Challenge:

• Ensuring product quality meets company requirements to maintain competitiveness in the markets.

Skills:

• 3-5 years experience in relevant engineering fields.
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering field preferably Material engineering/ chemical engineering
• Knowledge of QMS ISO9001 and statistical skills.
• Certification as an ISO9001 internal quality auditor.
• Proficiency in general computer applications, especially Microsoft Office/G Suite.
