As Vice President, Transaction Banking, you will be responsible for driving the commercial success of core transaction banking products for corporate customers. You will build and deepen client relationships, gaining a strong understanding of clients' trade, supply chain finance, and cash management requirements while proactively identifying opportunities for growth.
You will develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with broader business objectives, working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions. Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, you will provide insights informed by market trends and product developments, while ensuring a seamless end‑to‑end client experience. The role also carries responsibility for upholding risk and compliance standards and fostering an open, responsible culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive transaction banking revenue growth through proactive sales activities, in partnership with internal stakeholders
- Represent the institution in client meetings, deal discussions, and relevant industry engagements
- Manage transaction banking relationships with existing and prospective corporate clients
- Develop proposals and solutions that address client needs and enhance transaction banking revenues
- Build, monitor, and execute effective account plans and sales pipelines
- Act as key contact for transaction banking-related discussions, including technical and operational aspects
- Identify product gaps and opportunities for new or enhanced offerings through cost‑effective delivery channels
- Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory, and governance requirements, addressing and escalating issues appropriately
- Support broader transaction banking portfolio management initiatives as required
What You Will Bring
- Proven experience in transaction banking, trade finance, or cash management sales within a reputable financial institution
- Strong track record in business development and managing complex corporate client relationships
- In‑depth knowledge of trade finance instruments (e.g. letters of credit, guarantees) and cash management solutions (e.g. liquidity management, pooling structures)
- Ability to analyse complex client needs and structure practical, value‑adding solutions
- Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is required to support engagement with regional and international clients
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across product, risk, operations, and coverage teams
- High attention to detail with a disciplined approach to risk management and compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a recognised university
- Minimum of five years' experience in trade finance or cash management sales within financial services
- Solid understanding of transaction banking products, regulatory considerations, and portfolio management
- Demonstrated capability in account planning, pipeline management, and delivering sustainable revenue growth
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trusted client relationships
