Our client a global financial institution based in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a capable risk professional to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role
Here's what your day-to-day will look like:
  • Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of Shariah and operational risk frameworks, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborating with business and support units to embed appropriate risk management tools and strengthen control effectiveness
  • Investigating root causes of operational risk events and driving action plans to prevent recurrence
  • Preparing risk reports and analysis for senior committees and regulatory stakeholders
  • Facilitating training and awareness programmes on Shariah and operational risk
  • Monitoring regulatory updates and supporting stakeholders to implement timely enhancements
  • Developing and reviewing Shariah non-compliance scenarios within the stress testing programme
What We're Looking For
You'll be a strong fit if you bring:
  • A degree in any discipline, with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Shariah risk and/or operational risk
  • A solid foundation in Islamic finance risk is essential; a willingness to pursue relevant Shariah certifications is equally important
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present to senior audiences
  • A collaborative approach, with the drive to work independently and lead cross-functional initiatives
