The business supports a mix of project‑based and ongoing customer demand, requiring a robust, cost‑efficient, and highly responsive supply chain operation.
They are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead and integrate procurement, warehouse, and logistics operations in Malaysia.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role will have end‑to‑end responsibility for the local supply chain function, covering procurement, logistics, and warehouse operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both factory coordination and sales/project execution, ensuring materials and products are delivered on time, at optimal cost, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
This is a hands‑on leadership role, suited to someone who enjoys operational ownership, continuous improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Operations
- Develop and implement the overall supply chain strategy covering procurement, logistics, and warehouse management
- Ensure timely availability of materials and finished products to support production and customer requirements
- Drive continuous improvement across supply chain processes, policies, and performance metrics
Warehouse & Logistics Management
- Lead and optimise warehouse operations to improve productivity, accuracy, and service levels
- Manage third‑party logistics providers, including bonded warehouse operations, service standards, and cost control
- Oversee order fulfilment, inventory management, and material handling to meet customer and project requirements
- Manage freight and transportation costs while improving on‑time delivery performance
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Establish and maintain effective procurement policies to reduce cost and improve supplier performance
- Lead key supplier negotiations and sourcing activities
- Build strong working relationships with internal factories to secure project pricing support and reliable delivery timelines
- Support demand planning and inventory forecasting aligned with sales and production needs
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a multi‑functional supply chain team across purchasing, warehouse, and logistics
- Work closely with sales, operations, finance, and regional stakeholders to support business growth
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements, including approval authority limits
Requirements
Experience & Background
- Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline
- 3-5+ years of managerial experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing, industrial, or project‑based environment
- Proven experience managing warehouse and logistics operations, including vendor or 3PL management
- Strong exposure to procurement, supplier negotiations, and cost management
- Experience coordinating with regional or global factories is highly advantageous
Skills & Competencies
- Solid working knowledge of SAP and strong Excel capability for analysis, reporting, and forecasting
- Demonstrated success in process improvement, inventory planning, and operational optimisation
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Hands‑on, pragmatic leadership style with the ability to influence across functions
