Adoption, Usage & Quality Assessment
- Assess SmartStream adoption levels across in‑scope entities, teams, and processes.
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of SmartStream usage, including:
- Rule performance and match rates;
- Exception volumes and ageing; and
- Manual workarounds and off‑system processing.
- Identify gaps between intended design and actual usage, and recommend corrective actions.
Solution Design & Rule Optimisation
- Act as the primary functional advisor on SmartStream solution design and configuration.
- Review, design, and optimise:
- Matching rules;
- Tolerances, thresholds, and reconciliation logic; and
- Exception handling and workflows.
- Ensure rule design balances automation, accuracy, and control requirements.
- Advise on standardisation opportunities across entities to improve consistency and scalability.
Integration & Data Flow Oversight
- Provide subject matter guidance on SmartStream integrations with Oracle and other finance systems.
- Assess integration design, data quality, and reconciliation logic between systems.
- Support issue diagnosis and solutioning where integration or data flow impacts operational performance or accounting outcomes.
Control, Governance & Sustainability
- Ensure SmartStream usage aligns with finance control, audit, and SOX expectations.
- Support documentation of controls, key assumptions, and operating procedures where SmartStream is in scope.
- Identify control weaknesses linked to configuration, data, or usage patterns and recommend enhancements.
Continuous Improvement & Enhancement Advisory
- Identify enhancement opportunities to improve automation rates, user experience, and operational efficiency.
- Advise on prioritisation of SmartStream enhancements and configuration changes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Finance, Technology, Transformation teams on SmartStream‑related decision making
Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Enablement
- Partner with Finance, Technology, Transformation teams and external vendors on SmartStream matters.
- Provide expert guidance, walkthroughs, and targeted enablement to support better adoption and usage.
- Serve as escalation point for complex SmartStream design or functional issues.
What this role is not
- A pure run‑support or ticket‑based role.
- A re‑implementation or delivery PM role.
- Day‑to‑day transaction processing.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems.
Experience
- 7 - 10 years of experience in Finance Operations, Finance Systems, or Finance Transformation roles, with hands‑on exposure to SmartStream in a production environment.
- Strong hands‑on experience with SmartStream configuration and reconciliation logic.
- Solid understanding of bank reconciliation, cash accounting, and month‑end processes.
- Experience working with SmartStream integrations, particularly inbound/outbound data flows with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle General Ledger), including reconciliation logic and data validation considerations.
- Experience assessing and improving adoption and system usage post‑go‑live Experience in presentations to large and senior stakeholders.
- Experience in insurance or financial service industries will be an added advantage.
