Overview
We are hiring on behalf of a global technology licensor and solutions provider within the downstream refining, petrochemicals, and energy transition space, seeking a commercially driven and technically strong Regional Sales Manager. This role will focus on driving business development and revenue growth across Asia Pacific through the promotion of licensed process technologies, equipment, and services related to clean fuels, petrochemical intermediates, and decarbonization solutions.
The position requires a strong blend of technical engineering knowledge and commercial sales capability, with exposure to refining, petrochemicals, bio-renewables, hydrogen, and carbon capture technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies across refining, petrochemical, and energy transition markets in Asia Pacific
- Drive business development for licensed process technologies, engineering solutions, and associated equipment/services
- Identify and originate opportunities across refineries, petrochemical plants, and energy companies transitioning toward cleaner fuels and sustainable processes
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients including NOCs, IOCs, petrochemical producers, and project developers
Client Engagement & Commercial Execution
- Conduct regular client visits and deliver both commercial and technical presentations on process technologies and licensing solutions
- Represent the company at industry events, seminars, and conferences within the refining and petrochemical sectors
- Prepare, present, and negotiate commercial proposals, licensing agreements, and contracts
- Act as the key interface between customers and internal technical, engineering, and commercial teams
Market Development & Intelligence
- Develop strong market understanding across Asia Pacific refining, petrochemical, and bio-renewables sectors
- Monitor regulatory developments, incentives, and trends related to clean fuels, circular economy, carbon capture, and hydrogen
- Identify emerging opportunities in energy transition technologies and sustainable process solutions
- Gather and share market intelligence to support strategic positioning and growth
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Manage sales pipeline, forecasting, and CRM updates to ensure accurate tracking of opportunities
- Maintain disciplined reporting and coordination with internal sales support and commercial teams
- Track performance against targets and ensure timely reporting to leadership
- Ensure consistent follow-up on proposals, negotiations, and project developments
Team Collaboration & Regional Coverage
- Collaborate with regional sales teams to ensure effective coverage across Asia Pacific
- Share insights and coordinate on strategic opportunities across markets
- Report directly to senior commercial leadership and contribute to regional business planning
- Engage with global teams including HQ, technical experts, and licensing partners
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering strongly preferred)
- 10+ years of experience within downstream refining, petrochemicals, or energy-related industries
- At least 3 years in a technical/process engineering role and 5 years in sales or business development
- Strong technical understanding of refining processes, petrochemical technologies, or licensed process units
- Proven track record in selling complex, high-value technical solutions or licensing services
- Deep knowledge of Asia Pacific refining and petrochemical markets
- Familiarity with bio-renewables, clean fuels, hydrogen, or carbon capture technologies is an advantage
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience in contract negotiation and stakeholder management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and commercial stakeholders
- Willingness to travel frequently across the region (40-60%)
