The Role
A hands-on position where you'll lead direct material procurement end to end:
  • Oversee purchasing activities and ensure alignment with company procedures and policies
  • Confirm orders and track supplier deliveries for on-time fulfilment
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to support operational continuity
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing without compromising quality or reliability
  • Identify and implement procurement process improvements and material cost-saving initiatives
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, evaluation, ordering, and documentation
  • Provide support for audits and ad hoc management requirements
What We're Looking For
A direct materials specialist with a solid manufacturing background:
  • Degree-qualified in any discipline
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in purchasing or procurement
  • Proven direct materials purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment - MRO backgrounds will not be considered
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities
  • Proficient in English with solid Microsoft Office skills
  • Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform under pressure
  • A strong communicator with a collaborative, team-first approach
