Based in Shah Alam, they are looking for a commercially sharp procurement professional to take full ownership of direct material sourcing - spanning food commodities, ingredients, and packaging - with a regional remit that extends across Southeast Asia.

The Role
End-to-end ownership of direct material procurement in a growing manufacturing environment.
  • Develop and deliver category strategies across food commodities, ingredients, and packaging
  • Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, rebates, incoterms, and payment terms
  • Source, qualify, and manage suppliers against key performance metrics including quality and delivery
  • Maintain uninterrupted supply through proactive planning, risk mitigation, and issue resolution
  • Support financial planning, budgeting, and cost variance analysis
  • Uphold procurement governance, compliance, and ethical sourcing standards
  • Collaborate with R&D, QA, and Marketing on new product and packaging development
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
  • At least 5 years of direct material purchasing experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or related sectors
  • Practical exposure across a minimum of two categories - food commodities, ingredients, or packaging
  • Strong commercial negotiation and contract management capabilities
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in SAP and Excel
  • Confident working across multiple functions in a structured, fast-moving business
  • Familiarity with Halal or food safety certification standards (FSSC 22000, BRCGS, ISO 22000) is a plus
