Our client is a globally recognised enterprise seeking a technically sharp Data Engineer & Modeller for a 12-month remote contract. The Role

Here's what you'll be working on:

• Designing and maintaining scalable dimensional data models (star and snowflake schemas) to support enterprise analytics and reporting
• Building and optimising Spark/PySpark pipelines on Databricks and Microsoft Fabric, covering batch, incremental, and CDC processing
• Writing advanced SQL for transformation, aggregation, and validation across Databricks SQL, Fabric Warehouse, and Lakehouse environments
• Implementing data quality frameworks and automated testing within CI/CD pipelines, including metadata tagging and data lineage
• Monitoring query and pipeline performance while applying DevOps, CI/CD, and FinOps best practices

What We're Looking For

You'll bring the following to the table:

• 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, data modelling, or a related discipline
• Hands-on proficiency in Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, orchestration, notebooks) and Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory)
• Strong PySpark and Python development skills, with expertise in performance optimisation and schema evolution
• Advanced SQL capabilities across modern cloud data platforms
• A methodical, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly in dynamic environments
