Costing Assistant Manager (Nilai)

About Our Client:

Our client is a well-established manufacturing company with a strong presence in Malaysia and international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the product costing and standard costing processes, ensuring accurate and timely costing information for management.
• Maintain and review standard costs, Bill of Materials (BOM), routing, material costs, labour costs and manufacturing overheads.
• Perform cost roll-ups and periodic standard cost reviews, ensuring costing reflects current production and market conditions.
• Analyse material, labour, production and overhead variances, identifying key cost drivers and areas for improvement.
• Prepare and review monthly costing and manufacturing performance reports for management.
• Monitor inventory valuation, WIP and finished goods costing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Partner closely with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations teams to understand cost movements and improve cost efficiency.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning by providing accurate cost assumptions and manufacturing data.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent would be an advantage.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant costing experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience in standard costing, product costing, BOM, variance analysis and inventory costing.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production costs and cost drivers.
• Experience working closely with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations teams.
