Our client is a Global Multinational company with an established Shared Services in Malaysia. In line with their expanding structure and exciting development plan in the APAC region, a great opportunity has become available for a vibrant and talented professional to join this organization in the Procurement team.

The Role:

The main objective is to manage, ensure accurate planning, prioritisation and execution of category strategies for a specific Category. This role will be tasked to manage relationship cross-functionally and implement best practice policies.

Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop category strategy to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders and colleagues
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, select and develop new supplier
  • Develop a structured sourcing process (category strategy, planning, RF(x), negotiations, supplier selection)
  • Establish and implement best practice sourcing policies and procedures
  • Ensure category and team compliance to sourcing policies and procedures
  • Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on supply
  • Achieve optimum levels of productivity, ensuring that business benefits from lowest possible cost and best value

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferable in a Business Administration or relevant disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years of Strategic Sourcing experience
  • Experience in high-value logistics projects is preferred
  • Demonstrated record of developing relationships with suppliers that has led to improved quality and overall cost reduction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization
  • Strong team building skills and ability to effectively influence others
  • Strong compliance orientation within and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, a flexible, collaborative and team-oriented approach to problem solving, and an ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
